Storage racks can be divided into many types according to factors such as height and structure. During use, customers will choose the type of racks suitable for their warehouses according to the characteristics of the racks and their own needs. The following is a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of different racks in warehousing and logistics.

1. Heavy-duty racks

Advantages:

Heavy-duty racks are also called beam racks, which are a widely used pallet cargo storage rack. The surface is electrostatically sprayed with plastic, with good anti-corrosion ability, and can be combined and adjusted at will.

Disadvantages:

There are limitations in use, the racks occupy a large area, and the storage density is low.

2. Mezzanine floor racks

Advantages:

Mezzanine floor racks adopt an assembled structure, do not require welding, are easy to disassemble and install, and can also use the storage space utilization rate to achieve better storage space.

Disadvantages:

Mezzanine floor racks are not suitable for storing overweight goods. The height of the top floor is generally 2 meters, which requires the customer's warehouse height to exceed 4 meters. Because the mezzanine floor racks are manually stored, the work efficiency is not very high.

3. Drive in racks

Advantages:

Drive in racks are a type of rack that is not divided by aisles. On the support rails, pallets are stored in the depth direction, one after another, which will effectively improve the efficiency of high-density storage.

Disadvantages:

The use of Drive in racks is relatively limited. For example, it is not suitable for large quantities and many types.

4. Cantilever racks

Advantages:

Cantilever racks adopt a modular structure, which is easy to disassemble and transport, and the load capacity of each layer is between 2 tons and 4 tons. Cantilever racks are usually suitable for placing plates, circular materials, long materials, cables, etc. When used with forklift equipment, it can not only improve storage efficiency, but also reduce labor.

Disadvantages:

The cost is high, and the forklift has high requirements for the warehouse floor when operating. The operator needs to strictly follow the work manual.

5. Carton flow racks

Advantages:

Carton flow racks are also called flow racks. They use the dead weight of the racks to store goods from one channel and take out goods from the other channel to realize the "first in, first out" principle. They have the characteristics of one replenishment and multiple pick-ups. Electronic tags can be equipped to achieve easy management of the racks.

Disadvantages:

The workload is cumbersome, especially for industries that store goods frequently.

Each type of rack has its own advantages or disadvantages. The key is to choose the type of rack that suits your warehouse.
