Tips for Maintaining Storage Racking

  The storage racking system is important equipment in the modern warehousing industry. Storage racking is used in every industry. Here is the problem we need to consider that is how to maintain storage racking, because the racking may become loose after using for a period of time.

  Here are some tips for maintaining storage racking:


1. Periodical inspection

  Racking must be inspected regularly to avoid danger. When inspect racking, we should check whether the racking loses or deform. Even a bolt needs to be checked.

 

2. Don’t overload capacity

  It’s highly dangerous if racking overload. Each racking, including pallet racking and long span racking,  should be marked load capacity when you inspect to avoid problems due to unknown load capacity.

    

3. Rules should be followed: pay attention to placing heavy objects on the lower floor.

  When placing cargoes, heavy goods need to be placed on the lower layer. Not only to move easily but for our safety.

 

4. Keep racking away from moisture.

  Usually, the material of racking is steel. Moisture environment will make racking rust which may influence the service life of racking.

 

5. Ways of racking protection

  We usually use the forklift to unload racking from containers, and in this process, racking is prone to impact. In order to prevent deformation caused by impact, we need to add some protective film in some places that are often or habitually hit to reduce human injury to racking.
